Mental Restoration

What do you do to mentally restore yourself? Do you take time out of your day to just sit down and take a couple of big breathes? What about reading or listening to music? Everyone has different ways for mental restoration. It can even come in the form as coming into the gym and busting your ass for the next hour. A couple of different ideas are like stated earlier, doing a deep breath cycle. This does help with relieving stress of something that is weighting down on you. Another way is fantasying with a purpose. Now it’s not what you think. Get your mind out of the gutter. It’s fantasying about something or a hobby you really enjoy. A place or a certain ritual you have. One last idea is called “the mind gym”. I picked this up from a book I read called “The Way of the Seal” by Mark Devine. Basically how it works is you build a gym like atmosphere while taking deep breathes in. Now it doesn’t necessarily need to be a gym. It can be anything. You build where the location is at. What’s around you. The time of day. Literally everything. And you just soak in this for about 10 minutes a day. Stuff like this all adds up in the long run. So be sure to take time and mentally restore yourselves everyday. 🙂
